Adventures

BEN NEVIS CHARITY TREK, SEPT 2007

I organised this trip to raise funds for Cancer Research. Seven work colleagues who had never climbed a mountain before raised over £700 for Cancer Research UK. This was my first taster of the outdoors and set the ball rolling on my new hobby.

CLEVELAND WAY, JULY 2008

I failed it my attempt at completing the CW in 5 days. I was unable to put weight on my feet after reaching Saltburn in 3 days. I learned a lot of lessons on this trip and managed to turn failure into a positive situation.

JEBEL TOUBKAL, MORROCCO, March 2009

My first 4000m peak in a foreign land, this expedition came about on the back on being barred from LFTO. With a bit of planning and some hard graft anybody can accomplish their dreams of standing on top of North Africa’s highest moutatin.

HADRIANS WALL, August 2009

I walked this national trail over 7 days with my fiancee. We walked east to west and had a brilliant laugh along the way. Top marks for effort must go to Leanne who managed the trail despite having no experience of thru-hiking.

WOLDS WAY, March 2010

Hiked  over 4 days, this ofter overlooked trail turned into one of the best hikes to date. Done in true FC style, local pub owners were more than happy to see us wander into their establishments.

TGO CHALLENGE, MAY 2010

The TGO Challenge is annual self-supported walking event across the Highland of Scotland, west coast to  east coast/ It started in 1980 wand was the brainchild of the well-known writer and mountaineer, Hamish Brown

YORKSHIRE 3 PEAKS, July 2010

I decided to challenge myself on my birthday and ended up recording a respectable time of 7hr 16mins.

GREAT GLEN WAY, October 2010

The GGW is Scotlands fourth National Long Distance Walking Route. It runs from Fort William to Inverness along the Great Glen Fault. The route is 73 miles long and i was joined by a few familiar faces.
