The blog is also for the gear I have bought myself and used myself. Its not a blog for gear news or ten minute gear tests. This is a page for gear that has had its arse kicked about on the trail by me. No bullshit, just honest opinion.

Kit Being used right now…..

INOV RACE PRO 30 – Moving towards a more lightweight approach i figured a new pack was in order. This pack carries a load really comfortably and its outside mesh pockets mean you can get a weekends worth of kit into it.

HAGLOFS OZ PULLOVER – Quite pricy but its the lightest waterproof jacket on the market. The Paclite material has taken a lot of abuse in its stride. I have no plans to replace this jacket anytime soon.

NORTH FACE MOUNTAIN MARATHON TENT – Its not the best tent out there but it does the job. Very fast to pitch and makes up for lack of headroom with ample floor space. 1.3kg paid £60, need i say any more.

BERGHAUS PACLITE TROUSERS – Class product.

INOV8 ROCLITE 320 – Ultra light Trail running shoe with high levels of comfort and excellent underfoot cushioning. The patent pending Fascia band aids propulsion efficiency of the running cycle. Ideal for trails, training and long distance running.

ALPKIT PIPEDREAM 400 – Sub kilodown bag at a price that only Alpkit can provide. Rated to -3c.

ALPKIT AIRO 120 SLEEPMAT – The new improved version of the wee-airic and what an improvement. The nylon ripstop fabric feels very tough and the seams looked well sealed. It’s a 3/4 lenght mat @ 439g weight, with a R value rating of 2.5. Costing £35 delivered.

SEALSKINZ TREKKING SOCK – Developed specifically for hiking in arduous conditions it has a padded loop pile layer of Merino wool in key areas, it is full calf length.

IPHONE 4 / MEMORY MAP – Why buy a dedicated GPS, just use your overpriced mobile to do the job.
